Jesse Siminski has been releasing music under the guise Heartthrob for nearly a decade. He has worked with a slew of cutting-edge labels world wide. These include Bpitch, Hot Creations, Minus, Mute and Spectral Sounds. In 2013 he launched his own called ISNISNT.
Known for his bold use of melody and slick arrangements, Jesse has a knack for capturing peak emotion and propulsive grooves with the flair of an experimentalist. Though Heartthrob’s hit track Baby Kate and the full length album Dear Painter, Paint Me, stand out as two important releases, his more recent output has been of equally high quality, landing on both Hot Creations and his own imprint ISNISNT. Along the way he has done high profile remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode, The Knife, Plastikman, Madato and AGF Delay. Jesse has also recorded as Vivianne Projects, as Square One with Troy Pierce, done a remix with Mathew Jonson and, most recently, worked together with Matt Tolfrey for Leftroom.
Jesse has spent the last 10 years touring the globe full time, DJing or playing live in many of the top clubs in the world. His high energy sets have become synonymous with forward thinking music from across the electronic landscape.
He has held a residence at the storied Rex Club in Paris and is a frequent guest at Fabric in London, Berghain in Berlin, Womb in Tokyo and Space in Ibiza, amongst others.
While living in New York, a chance encounter with Magda would lead to friendships with Troy Pierce, Richie Hawtin and Kevin McHugh. This foreshadowed the emergence of the minimal techno scene in New York and later around the world.
Through his work with the Minus label, Jesse has participated in a series of ground breaking projects that included product development for technology giants Native Instruments, Ableton, Allen & Heath, Livid, Liine and Burn Studios.
Jesse Siminski was in born in Northern Michigan. He discovered dance music through a musician father and a relative who owned a record shop near Detroit. Prince, Kraftwerk and Laid Back were early touchstones to the electronic beat that would become so important to his music. Growing up in the Midwest in the 90′s introduced Jesse to the underground techno and house music radiating from Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis. Labels like Relief, Plus 8 and Communique formed the backbone of his record collection and informed his sensibilities early on. With stints in New York and Paris, Jesse currently calls Berlin home.
